iPhone Disaster

(A rant to vent my frustration and a warning to others.)

My iphone 5S broke a month ago - screen cracked and phone stopped charging.
I brought it into a repair store in Mullingar CreativeITSolutions
who charged 120 euro to fix it. After a week I collected it an brought it home for it to turn off again because the battery was not working - I could feel the battery shake, clearly not put in right. (not a good sign when they can't even fit a battery)

I bought the phone back to the store letting them know that the battery was loose in the phone (showed them how it notably was out of place when you moved the phone). They said that they would fix it. A few weeks later when checking for an update we are told they have lost the phone.....

I went into them today to see what was going on. They had found my phone....BUT
they had come up with a 'master plan' ie. to put the phone back together and for me to bring the phone into Three and tell them 'my phone stopped working and I have no idea why' and lie about it being 'fixed' by the 'Computer Repair' shop. As if that would work.....

I told them that I really didn't think that plan would work. They had no idea what was wrong with the phone and I am pretty sure they didn't care. The guy at the desk was just looking at Facebook the whole time I was talking to him. He seemed clueless and couldn't really tell me much detail about what had been done with the phone.

I am not sure regarding the consumer rights in this area but really.... I had paid them for nothing - just for them to tell me to bring it to the three store and lie.

Not only were they useless in terms of technology they were also EXTREMELY rude.
The sales rep was paying little attention to what I was saying - just kept looking at facebook.
I think its very bad form to be left feeling so upset and frustrated leaving a store after being spoken to rudely and put down.
If I treated a customer like that in my place of work I would be fired. They have NO customer service skills.
Small business' - any business in fact, should know better than to treat their customers like shit.
Some respect would be nice.
It also would have been nice to have spoken to someone who had some sort of expertise. That is what I was paying for after all - someone who has expertise in this area, looking back I probably could have done a better job myself.
This guy really appeared clueless and I would have extreme concerns about his experience. I have a strong feeling the store is run by people trying to make a quick buck - ie. they have no expertise about phones and are just trying to make some money before people start to realise its not a good idea to go to that store.

I would really NOT recommend anyone to bring their phone to Creative IT, Mullingar because they will probably cause more damage than good. I hate to put a business down but this is an honest review of my experience with this shop. I would never write negative reviews on a shop unless I felt it was really warranted. If anyone has any ideas on what I should do about this please let me know. I am only half way through my contract with three......and I don't fancy having to pay 40 euro a month for a phone I dont even have. I am using a crap 13 euro phone at the moment....not using my 3 sim because it is a micro sim.

I got the phone back from them with a refund. They didn't remove the screen they had put in , like they had said they would ONLY because they had broken it themselves and there was no point on keeping a broken screen. NOT a good sign when a repair shop break the screen themselves. I have spoken to a few others who have also used this repair shop and they had the same experience- rude service, clueless staff and more damage caused to their phone.

Semester One, Completed.

I have completed my final year placement and it was so bittersweet finishing.
On one hand I was so happy; I felt that I had achieved so much and learned so much about myself and social work. On the other hand I was really sad to leave because I had such an amazing time, the team were so friendly and overall I was just going to miss it so much. I am so glad I am soon to be qualified in a profession that I am so passionate about and something I feel I am very good at.

(Side Rant ) I think, from my experience anyway, being confident in what you do or saying  you are really good at something  can drive others crazy. It always baffles me how negative the feedback can be from people when you say something good about yourself. Do we live in a society that only wants people to be meek and put themselves down. I have always been pleased when people I know or peers do well for themselves and of course being human I can get jealous but I tend to use that feeling to make myself work harder. If you are good at something or have achieved something great be proud of it. I think being mean to someone because they did well is an awful trait to have.

Holiday season has started at home. This video is too accurate- Link to 'Back Home Ballers'

Semester One in Pictures

We got a new pal for my grandmother. His name is Rocky and he will only eat biscuits.

Eoghan broke my heart with an omelette disaster. Never mess with a 'hangry' girls food...

I tried out Gel Nails for the first time - it was great for 3 weeks then the problems started ...I think they were put on wrong because they ALL fell off, well before they needed to be 'filled in'.

I got an Aloe Vera plan for my roomed (Named Stern , I got it when I was in the middle of watching 'The Good Wife') I don't know what it is but I find green plants indoors very relaxing.

I got locked in a bathroom with B so we just too pictures and waited for someone to come rescue us.

I ate way to many watermelons

We went on an adventure to Galway and went to a really cute tea shop. I was so parro I would break everything because it was so tiny and everything was so fragile.

Went on a cute night out with my mother. Wine, Food and Gone Girl - I thought it was ok, but  I knew what was going to happen so that kind of took from it.

We went to stay the night in Inis Bofin, this was waiting for the ferry.

We went to the zoo. I hadn't been in years but it was such a cute experience. My fave was the russian tigers, though I have seen too many episodes of greys anatomy I was so sure they would get out. So many young children were crying at the zoo. NGL I was glad I could just run away from them haha.

For halloween I dressed up as a cat. I was going to dress up as Katy Perry and I had the entire costume ready to go but I wasn't feeling it on the night.

Eoghan spilled wine on B's dress and we spent the whole morning hungover and googling washing tips.

My dad got me this sushi usb key. I say the memory is shit but it is hella cute.

On the ferry en route to Inis Bofin

Cocktails at 2pm because it was my day off ;) We also got two free.

I have discovered Cotton Candy Grapes in M&S and they are life changing.

Driving through the middle of no where, Galway.

Hangover Nosh at Blackrock, Dundalk. This day I locked my keys in the care. It was very dramatic. We had to break into the car.

I now have a month off for Christmas Holidays and way too many essays to do.

Semester One (Final Year)

Two weeks left of semester one .

Also I got a new part time job. So pleased.
Placement has been an amazing experience. Right now I am feeling more confident than ever.
Like everything in life there have been challenges along the way but only 2 weeks left and I have survived so far. Eager Beaver.

Just not looking forward to the billions of words I'm going to have to write between now and Jan with essay ....but it has to be done.

Keep an eye on

London Weekend Break

                                 London Weekend Break

(Flew into Stansted and stayed at the Hilton Olympia Kensington)

We got lured in by Ryan Air cheap cheap flights to stansted - really by the time you pay for the taxi to the airport (because you are so wrecked at 3am that you cant deal with public transport), the bus into London and the taxi home from the airport at 6 am (after leaving your hotel at 1am) ITS REALLY NOT WORTH IT. Next time I will just pay for a more expensive flight for its convenience. Isn't hindsight fab

Eoghan really couldn't cope with a 5 am flight and me                                                                                   pestering to look at all the duty free shops.

                                                  ~ The Food~

Wasabi Sushi Bar was our Favourite place to eat. It was hella cheap and delish.
Oh and its E V E R Y W H E R E.

....we were very eager about Asian cuisine that month, can you tell ? heh

We fell in love with Camden St. food market but not so much with Octopus - vom.

I harassed everyone on my snapchat ( neadmurph , add me and you too can be harassed) with coffee snaps preaching my love for Pret A Manger - HOW has this not come to Ireland.

But we did visit other smaller coffee shops to because we get major guilt for our love of multi national companies.

                                    ~ The touristy snaps~

We spent an entire rainy day looking at architecture and all the pretty buildings in London which included trying and failing to sneak into an ancient gold plated room.

I won like 3£ on a slot machine and lost around 20£.

I unexpectedly fell in love with the city of London and 3 days really wasn't enough. SO eager to return this year.
